Week 1

Reading

I really like to read about what is happening in my country and all the world, whether in innovations, political or environmental issues. This week, I have found one page that make reviews about the latest innovations in the world and how do they work, and a little bit about the history of what make them different.

Read many articles on this webpage help me in the way to understand more technical vocabulary and grammar skills which I can learn through the reading. If you are interested on that kind of topics about new technologies or new products that could make a difference in the world, you can visit the page:

Writing

To improve my writing skills, I found a couple of years ago an application named "Tandem" where you can find a person who talks an specific language that you are interested to learn.

In my case, I found Samantha, who is from US and she wanted to learn Spanish, as I helped her with that, she helped me with grammar English.

I recommend that application because the other person can correct the mistakes in your message, in this way you can improve your writing.

Listening

For these skills I found interesting, and not boring, see movies and videos in English; so, in this week I saw a Netflix series, and I think that can help me to understand in many ways, one of them is understand the accent, because is not the same to understand what is saying a person from UK or African.

I saw "The Killing", is a Netflix Original Series about a murder of a girl in suspicious ways, so two detectives want to know what happened behind the "original" story.

Extra: Speaking, Listening and Writing

For 3 years, I have been learning German in the school and improving my vocabulary and fluency with Duolingo, which is an application that can help you to learn another language, with many exercises. Despite the fact that I learn German, the exercises of writing, listening and writing are in English, so at the same time I learn German, I learn English.

For the next week I think to start practicing only English with Duolingo, in order to practice more English for my TOEIC exam.

Speaking

The only exercises that I did in the week for speaking were the activities in the class, when in pairs talked about many topics, as present ourselves to the other person and to try to speak with fluency. The next week will be a presentation and it will be recorded, to more practice the speaking skills.
